Hello Friends. Thank you for going on this journey with me this month as I have been talking about the Start Here: Dream Planner. I hope that those of you who have downloaded it, are finding it helpful as you think through the year ahead. And if you haven’t gotten your copy, you can sign up for it here.

Today, I thought I would take a break from all our dreaming, goal setting, and change making, and simply share some things I am loving right now. I share some music, an organizational hack, and a challenging quote from one of my heroes. Enjoy! And if you have a moment, tell me one thing you’re loving right now.

Love

When it comes to music, I am usually behind the crowd, listening to stuff months or even a year after it came out. But, as it has only been two months since this came out, I feel good about telling you that I am loving Mumford and Son’s newest album, Delta. So, lately, when I am not listening to podcasts, this has been the music in my ears.

What music has been in your ears lately?

Learn

One thing I’ve been learning lately is how many things in our life could be easier if we just take the time to organize them a little differently. For example, we don’t have a lot of cabinet space in our kitchen, but we do have a lot of spices (we love cooking).

For years, these spices have floated around the first shelf of the cabinet right above our only working space in the kitchen. And countless times, these little jars have fallen out of the cabinet when I have tried to retrieve something else. Without fail, these jars have fallen into the food I’m making which means countless times I’ve been on the receiving end of the backsplash of flour or beaten eggs. Let me tell you, the clean up hasn’t been fun.

But then, we found these small bins at Ikea for less than three dollars, and now our cabinets are organized, I know where all my spices are, and I haven’t been doused with flour or anything worse since!

Has even simple organization made your life better? If so, how?

Lead

“Only when diverse perspectives are included, respected, and valued can we start to get a full picture of the world: who we serve, what they need, and how to successfully meet people where they are. Daring leaders fight for the inclusion of all people, opinions, and perspectives because that makes us all better and stronger. That means having the courage to acknowledge our own privilege, and staying open to learning about our biases and blind spots.”

—Brene Brown, Dare to Lead

Are you a daring leader?

Whose perspectives do you need more of in your life?

Who do you need to make room for, in your circles, so their stories can be heard?
