When you think back on 2018, what will you remember?  What life events will come to mind? What world events? Or, perhaps more fun, what show will you remember binging? What songs will bring you right back to where you were in life, this past year?

Today, I want to share with you my list of things I loved in 2018. They are shows or some form of media. They are things that bring me small joys. And others are memories I hope to always hold close. I hope this list helps you get to know me a little better, and I would be thrilled if you would share in the comments some of the things you loved this year as well!

TV:

Weddings—no I am not talking about a show. But rather that three of my favorite shows—This Is Us, The Big Bang Theory, and my long time fav, Grey’s Anatomy, all ended their seasons this year with weddings. Kate and Toby’s ceremony was a tear jerker. Sheldon and Amy’s wedding day was hysterical and perfectly them. And Grey’s managed to squeeze in three different weddings into one episode. Though, I haven’t forgiven them for having Dr. Kepner leave the show, and I was kind of hoping Meredith and Alex would get married someday, it was a fantastic season finale.

Movie:

The Greatest Showman

Technically, it came out at the end of 2017, but as I didn’t see it until 2018, I feel it counts. Hugh Jackman leads a stellar cast, and the music is fantastic. Not only that, but the overall theme of the movie inspires you to dream big dreams.

Music:

Look Up Child by Lauren Daigle

Lauren Daigle is new to me, but this album is beautiful. Her voice reminds me of Adele, and her song, Rescue, was in my head and my heart for days.

CrazyTalk by Mat Kearney

Mat Kearny is one of my all-time favorite singer/songwriters. Tony surprised me for my birthday this year with concert tickets for this tour, and it was fantastic. My Favorite song off this album is Better Than I Used To Be.

Podcast:

The Going Scared Podcast

Noonday CEO, Jessica Honegger, started this podcast to encourage others to follow their big dreams despite their fear. In each episode she interviews people with incredible stories that make you feel like, “If they can do it, I can too.”

Book:

Girl Wash Your Face

By far, this was my favorite book for 2018. I talk about it, and other books I loved, here.

Friends:

Getting away to the Finger Lakes—In April, Tony and I went to the Finger Lakes with our two closest friends. We did some hiking, visited the wineries, and ate amazing cannolis. We are so thankful for two friends who will leave their kids for two days to go adventuring with us. It is such a blessing.

Book Club—this summer, I invited a few of my friends to read Girl Wash Your Face, then come over and talk about it. Though not all of them could make it, the night I had with the two that did come was like taking a deep breath of fresh air. GWYF gave us so much to talk about, and I loved having these deep life conversations with my dear friends.
